چکیده
The late Carboniferous–early Permian represents a key period in the Phanerozoic history, given major global geodynamic and climate modifications. aim of this work is to better understand context characteristics sedimentation recorded continental environments eastern equatorial Pangea at time, through example Autun Basin (northeastern Massif Central, France). contains historical stratotype Autunian stage, its stratigraphy was recently improved by accurate numerical ages. This basin formed an extensional tectonic during latest stages Variscan orogeny, it essential study paleoenvironmental evolution provide new insights into sedimentary contemporaneous surrounding basins. Using field subsurface data, we propose refined sedimentological model for Basin, relying on updated facies interpretations, organic matter content fluctuations, sequence concepts correlations. lower succession previously considered be fluvial lacustrine, are herein re-interpreted as mainly comprising fine-grained matter-rich deposits, supplied coarser-grained deltaic siliciclastic sediments, without preservation strict sedimentation. determination cycles, strengthened quantification content, reflected temporal progradational retrogradational trends, used determine correlations between several sections, well reconstruct paleoenvironment Carboniferous–Permian transition. provides evidence that area time filling much larger than preserved area, suggests connections with neighboring French basins, pointing large system northeastern Central rather narrow isolated

Facies, sedimentary environments and sequence stratigraphy of Cretaceous deposits in the northwest of Azerbaijan, Iran
The Cretaceous deposits in Morakan, located in the northeast of Khoy, a town in western Azerbaijan province, Iran, are primarily made up of carbonate rocks. These deposits, which are of 717 meters thick, lie on the clastic facies of Jurassic and are covered with beneath the pelagic beds of the Upper Cretaceous. To investigate the facies, sedimentary environment and sequential stratigraphy of th...
متن کاملfacies and sequence stratigraphy of tirgan formation in abgarm and sirzar sections, northeastern kopet-dagh basin
tirgan formation with lower cretaceous age (barremian-aptian) in the kopet-dagh basin consists of carbonate and siliciclastic rocks (calcareous shale and sandstone) which conformably lay between siliciclastic rocks of shurijeh formation below, and marly sarcheshmeh formation at the top. in this study, tirgan formation in two stratigraphic sections of abgarm (77 m in thickness) and sirzar (46 m ...
متن کاملFacies Analysis and Sequence Stratigraphy of CRP-2/2A, Victoria Land Basin, Antarctica
The Oligocene to Quaternary succession encountered in CRP-2/2A is divided into twelve recurrent lithofacies (some of which have been subdivided further), reflecting a range of marine, glacimarine and possibly subglacial environments of sediment accumulation. A cyclical vertical arrangement of lithofacies was noted throughout the core, and is used as the basis for a sequence stratigraphic analys...
